Stead-fast realization
To join a revolution
With my right fist raised and clenched
And my red shirt sweaty drenched . . .
Easy to point the culprit
They're the ones who always sit
And with the media discourse
Who would not be really forced? . . .
Poverty's romanticized
Government is criticized
What we call social justice
Have shares of grave injustice . . .
Some rely on charity
Or instant prosperity
Oppressive reality
Prevails the majority . . .
Building a society
With broad-based capacity
For their own wealth creation
Might as well save this nation . . .
Not just instill a culture
That would be worth a sculpture
An ethic of excellence
For our progress to commence . . .
Not by mere giving of fish
But teaching 'em how to fish
For 'em not just to survive
But in spite of all, to thrive . . .
Our fight against poverty
No longer a novelty
Count this as one of our wins
No Excuses Philippines!
