A HERO TO BOOT

A forced orphan early
He struggled so dearly
Was breast-fed at neighbor
Endured every labor . . .

At ten was a driver
Showed no signs of shiver
A king of their river
With a sub-par liver . . .

Was a topnotcher in class
In P.E. failed to pass
Cuz he 'aint got no shoes
Halted his ego's bruise . . .

Fate led him to Julie
Fought for their love truly
Amidst opposition
Stood firm with decision . . .

Blessed with many children
A king now has his den
Family of his own
There he wants to be known . . .

Armed with just principles
Got tons of disciples
Has left a legacy
For all of us to see . . .

Can mingle with any
Has befriend so many
With skills so uncanny
At the same time funny . . .

He toyed with some substance
I never took a glance
His face may be tarnished
Respect never vanished . . .

Tormented by kidney
Plus swelling of the knee
Battle he did not win
His body just gave in . . .

Huge crowd at interment
To share with our lament
I'm proud to be your son
May you rest in peace, man!

It has been 10 years, we miss you Daddy!
